HADDONFIELD, N.J. (CBS) - An 11-year-old Haddonfield boy is working his dream job as town crier for the historical Indian King Tavern.
"Ohyay! My lords, my ladies, my fellow citizens of Haddonfield," shouts Joey Rihl, dressed in 18th century attire, as he walks up and down Kings Highway and announces the Tavern's special events to anyone within an earshot.
"It's a really great job. I love it. It's the perfect thing for a kid that really loves history."
His mother Patty says he was the only child to audition and the decision to hire him wasn't difficult.
"He went down in full costume and he did a town cry off the top of his head about the Indian King Tavern and the history of Haddonfield."
The town is celebrating its tricentennial, 300 years of history, with numerous events throughout the year. For more information, visit http://haddonfield300.org/.
