Female Driver Dead After Car Crashes Into SEPTA Trolley

PHILADELPHIA (CBS) – According to SEPTA, a female driver is dead after her vehicle collided with a SEPTA trolley Thursday afternoon in the Fishtown section of the city.

SEPTA says a Route 15 trolley was exiting the Delaware loop on Delaware Avenue near SugarHouse Casino, when the victim's car hit the trolley head on.

According to SEPTA, there were six passengers on board the trolley at the time of the accident.  All passengers and the trolley operator say they suffered back and shoulder injuries.

SEPTA says shuttle buses will operate between 26th and Girard and the Delaware loop. There is regular trolley service is available between 26th and Girard and the West Philadelphia Terminus at 63rd & Girard Avenue.
