This cozy West Village restaurant is clearly confident about their Manhattan My Way (blended Scotch, sweet vermouth, dry vermouth, orange bitters, grapefruit bitters and orange zest), and they should be--it's well-balanced and smooth. The use of two different vermouths and two different bitters makes this boozy tipple very sip-able.

Leave it to chef Harold Dieterle's modern Thai restaurant to put an exotic twist on one of the Big Apple's most classic drinks. The Massamanhattan features Old Overholt Rye, Vya Sweet Vermouth, Angostura bitters and a Massaman-brown sugar syrup. Spicy, sweet and aromatic, it's a perfect choice for the cold winter months.

Employees Only's master barkeeps are known for putting their own twists on classic recipes. The Manhattan here features Rittenhouse Rye, Italian vermouth, Grand Marnier and dashes of Angostura bitters. The addition of the orange liqueur makes this version a bit sweet, but it's actually comparable to the sweeter style of Manhattans which were served pre-Prohibition.
