Mayor De Blasio's Office Releases Emails Reportedly Detailing Ties With Consultant
NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- Mayor Bill de Blasio's office chose Wednesday night, the night before Thanksgiving, to release hundreds of emails the office has been fighting to keep private.
There were reports late Wednesday that the emails reveal a highly unorthodox relationship with a consultant who not only has clients with business before the city, but also acts as a trusted adviser to the mayor.
The Mayor's office argued there was no issue with the relationship and said the consultant is an "agent of the city."
Several news outlets asked for release of the emails, suspecting conflicts of interest.
