Joey Chestnut Breaks His Hot Dog Eating Record

NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) -- The annual hot dog eating championship at Nathan's in Coney Island is coming up and if Saturday's qualifying event in Washington is any indication, a familiar name could take the title once again.

Famed competitive eater Joey "Jaws" Chestnut demolished his own record by eating 73 and a half hot dogs and buns in 10 minutes. His previous record was 69.

Matt Stonie won last year's July 4 contest, eating 62 hot dogs and buns to Chestnut's 60.
