Jews Prepare For Sukkot Wednesday

NEW YORK (CBS 2) -- The Jewish holiday of Sukkot gets underway at sundown Wednesday, and Jews around the world will build sukkahs.

They symbolize the temporary huts the Israelites lived in while wandering the desert for 40 years after the exodus from Egypt.

They're usually decorated with fruits, vegetables and other festive items.

Meals will be eaten inside the sukkah for seven days and nights.
