The name of this dessert pretty much sums it up: chocolate peanut butter bliss. Sounds delish, no? After all, is there a better combination than chocolate and peanut butter? Just wait until you hear how they combine at this beloved Upper East Side restaurant: chocolate and peanut butter mousse, salted peanuts, and berry coulis piled on a caramel crust. Candle 79 specializes in organic vegetarian food, so you could argue that you might actually be doing your body a disservice by not ordering one. Don't let the sorta dark photo fool you: this dessert is yummy, yummy, yum.

Why not have a doughnut for dessert? The kind of person who tells you that doughnuts are just for breakfast is, frankly, not the kind of person you need in your life. Doughnuts are a great anytime snack, including after lunch or after dinner. And those at Dun-Well are particularly delicious, vegan and organic and wholesome as they are. The chocolate, peanut butter, and pretzel doughnut wonderfully blends all three toppings, so each bite is perfectly calibrated to give you a little bit of everything, atop moist yeast dough.

By all means, grab a seat in the white dining area and order up a bistro staple such as house-smoked salmon panini. Or browse the retail section of the joint, full as it is with chocolate and candy confections. But definitely make sure you save room for dessert, in this case the Fluffernutter milkshake, which blends vanilla ice cream with peanuts, marshmallows, peanut butter, and whipped cream. It's like drinking a sandwich prepared for you by your mom on a lazy summer day, when all you cared about was heading back outside for more sun and fun.

Given how often we eat this dessert (say, roughly, oh, once a week for the past five years), you'd think we'd have a photo. Alas, no. We're too busy salivating to think about getting our camera ready, then too busy eating to actually take a shot. Allow us to explain exactly what's so captivating: a sweet graham cracker crust covered with whipped-until-fluffy peanut butter, which is itself drizzled with chocolate syrup, sprinkled with nuts, and decorated with chunks of peanut butter cups. This pie is probably our favorite peanut butter dessert in the whole city.

Since 1998, Peanut Butter & Co. has celebrated peanut butter not just on January 24 but every single day of the year. You can find their products in grocery stores near you, or you can head to the sandwich shop near NYU. After chowing down on a Peanut Butter BLT (just want it sounds like) or a Jerry Seinfeld Comedy Special (a toasted bagel smothered in peanut butter and honey and a dusting of cinnamon), order a wafflewich sundae (two toaster waffles with ice cream, whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and, of course, peanut butter. Lots and lots of peanut butter.). It will definitely make you smile.
