12/12 CBS2 Friday Morning Weather Headlines

By Giorgio Panetta, CBS 2 Chief Meteorologist/Weather Producer

Good morning everyone,

It's cold out there. Hats and gloves should be our friends this time of year -- don't leave 'em home today!

Some of us are starting with real feel temps in the teens and low 20s. We're not going to tack on too many extra degrees either. I think we'll top near 40 degrees.

You might see a flurry flying by today, but it's really just eye candy. The nor'easter is no longer a nor'easter, and its going towards Greenland. See ya.

We have an 1,800 mile stretch of quiet weather ahead before we even see a mostly cloudy day.

A decent weekend is in store with sun returning and temps near normal.

Monday looks great for mid December. Almost 50... similar story on Tuesday. But we also keep an eye on the system out west (a la San Francisco's heavy rain). It heads our way in a very weakened state, but nonetheless, it merits watching.

Check back in later for a detailed update.
