Rock and Roll Hall of Fame to feature performances by Chili Peppers, The Faces and Mellencamp

(CBS News) Axl Rose's decision not to attend Saturday's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has triggered a lot of buzz surrounding this weekend's induction ceremony. But Guns N' Roses isn't the only act entering the Rock Hall this year.

The 27th annual event, slated for Saturday night in Cleveland, features a star-studded list of presenters and inductees.

Green Day will induct Guns N' Roses; Hip hop artists Chuck D and LL Cool J will induct the Beastie Boys; John Mellencamp will induct Donovan; Steve Van Zandt will induct the Small Faces/Faces, which included Rod Stewart; Chris Rock will induct the Red Hot Chili Peppers; Bette Midler will induct late singer-songwriter Laura Nyro; ZZ Top's Billy Gibbons and Dusty Hill will induct late guitarist-singer Freddie King; and Carole King will induct the late veteran music mogul, Don Kirshner.

The Blue Caps, The Comets, The Crickets, The Famous Flames, The Midnighters and The Miracles will all be inducted by Smokey Robinson.

The Faces, including original members Rod Stewart and Ronnie Wood, will perform on Saturday. ZZ Gibbons and Hill will team up in honor of King, Darlene Love will perform for Kirshner, and Donovan will hit the stage with John Mellencamp. The Red Hot Chili Peppers will also perform at the event.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame ceremony airs May 5 on HBO at 9 p.m. ET.
