Reese Witherspoon to play Tinker Bell in Disney live-action film

Reese Witherspoon might soon be flapping fairy wings and packing pixie dust in Neverland.

The Oscar winner is attached to produce and star in Disney's latest live-action reboot, this one focused on the story of Tinker Bell.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, "Tink" will focus on the classic Peter Pan character in the same way last year's "Maleficent" did with that "Sleeping Beauty" villain, played by Angelina Jolie -- it's reportedly being conceived as "the story you don't know" and will offer new perspective on the character.

Victoria Strouse, who wrote the script for Pixar's upcoming sequel "Finding Dory," is penning the script for "Tink," THR reports. The film, which is still in development, does not yet have a director on board.

Peter Pan and Neverland are also hitting the big screen later this year in the Warner Bros. prequel "Pan," which traces the origin story of the Boy Who Won't Grow Up.

Witherspoon, meanwhile, has the comedy "Hot Pursuit" currently in theaters.
