Get ready for a new British invasion.

Royals fans and fashion lovers alike will have their sights set on New York City this weekend for the arrival of Prince William and wife Kate.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will touch down in the Big Apple on Sunday for the start of a whirlwind three-day trip, promoting charitable causes and carrying out some ambassadorial roles on behalf of the British government.

Kensington Palace has released details of the couple's itinerary, which includes 10 events over just two days. Their schedule includes stops at spots any other NYC visitor might like to see -- the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the National September 11 Memorial and Museum and the Empire State Building.

The pair, both 32, will separate briefly on Monday -- William will travel to Washington to give a speech at the International Corruption Hunters Alliance conference, while Kate will stay back in New York and is due to wrap gifts and do crafts with children and volunteers at a child development center in Harlem, accompanied by the first lady of New York City, Chirlane McCray.

That evening, they'll attend an NBA basketball game at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn to support the collaboration between the Royal Foundation, United for Wildlife and the NBA.

On Tuesday, William and Kate are scheduled to tour the 9/11 memorial and museum and will visit a youth organization and attend a glitzy gala at the Met benefiting the University of St. Andrews, where they met and earned their degrees.

Other engagements will have them meeting with members of the British community in New York and promoting British involvement in the city's technology and creative industries.

This isn't the first time the royal couple has been to the United States -- they made an official visit to California back in 2011, and William made a personal visit with Prince Harry to Nashville, Tennessee, for a friend's wedding in May.

Many will likely be on the lookout for what Kate, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, will wear during the trip. The mix of events means there are opportunities for casual ensembles and elegant dresses alike.

One thing she won't be packing? Baby clothes. Unlike their last overseas tour of Australia and New Zealand, this time Kate and William are traveling without their 1-year-old son, Prince George.
