Kesha's mom Pebe Sebert opens up on Dr. Luke

Kesha has stayed relatively quiet about her controversial battle against Sony and her allegations of rape and abuse by Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, but her mother, Pebe Sebert, is speaking out about the producer.

"She was a prisoner," Sebert told Billboard.

Sebert claims that Kesha was so conditioned to abusive treatment from Dr. Luke that she would become ecstatic any time he gave her his approval.

"It was like someone who beats you every day and hangs you from a chain and then comes in and gives you a piece of bread. Luke would say, 'You look nice today,' " said Sebert, "and send her into hysterics of happiness because she was programmed to expect nothing but abuse."

She said her daughter was so terrified that she hired security to sit in the driveway of her Nashville house. "Luke almost destroyed us," said Sebert. "And he has done it intentionally."

Sebert explained that while it's true that her daughter is permitted to work with other producers besides Dr. Luke, he has the final sign-off on who those producers are.

"Kesha's allowed to work with another producer," she said. "But Luke gets to approve them. He gets to approve of anyone she works with. He has final say over everything."

Sebert also explained that she wanted Kesha to come forward, but the pop star felt her hands were tied.

"I wanted Kesha to come forward a long time ago and end this relationship with Dr. Luke immediately after the [alleged] rape," said Sebert. "But if she wanted to have a shot at the music business, she had no choice but [to work with him]."

On Wednesday, TheWrap reported that Sony will drop Dr. Luke. The producer's team denied the report.
