Jon Cryer compares Donald Trump to Charlie Sheen

Jon Cryer says he knows Donald Trump's type very well -- because he thinks Trump is just like his former co-star, Charlie Sheen.

The former "Two and a Half Men" actor talked with the hosts of "The Real" on Tuesday and started to discuss the presidential race and said that people like Trump because of his unfiltered commentary.

"I worked with a guy who also, whenever he said whatever came to the top of his head, people loved it!" he said. "And they loved it even more when he said horrible things. So there was an interesting overlap between ... Charlie and Donald Trump."

And would the actor vote for a man like Trump or Sheen? No way.

"People like that?" he said. "He's willing to just say whatever foolishness comes to the top of his head. Much foolishness. And it's fascinating to watch because uh ... I don't want people to pick the president based on entertainment value."

In fact, Cryer says people should look at Sheen as an example of what could go wrong if Trump were elected.

"I saw somebody spectacularly flame out and and ruin everything that was good in their lives by doing that," he explained. "And I don't want somebody else to ruin everybody else's lives by coming to power that way."

Los Angeles police said last Wednesday that actor Charlie Sheen is the subject of a criminal investigation headed by detectives from an elite stalking unit.
