"Guardians of the Galaxy" 15-second teaser trailer unmasked

Watch out "Avengers," a new team of super-heroes is taking the spotlight this summer.

A 15-second teaser trailer for "Guardians of the Galaxy" was released on the film's official Facebook page Tuesday, offering a glimpse at one of the most anticipated action releases of the year.

Most of the shots in the quick tease are blink-and-you'll-miss, with the spot meant to hype the debut of the film's first full-length trailer, which premieres Tuesday night on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!"

Based on the long-running comics, "Parks and Recreation" cast member and "The Lego Movie" voice actor Chris Pratt portrays Peter Quill, a human who eventually becomes Star-Lord, leader of an intergalactic group of super-heroes dedicated to keeping the peace.

Zoe Saldana co-stars as Gamora, a green-skinned alien who becomes an unlikely ally to Quill. Saldana had previously portrayed a blue-skinned alien, Neytiri, in 2009's "Avatar" -- a role she's set to reprise in three new installments from James Cameron.

Several acclaimed actors fill out the cast of "Guardians of the Galaxy," with Oscar-nominees Bradley Cooper and Glenn Close, along with Academy Award-winner Benicio del Toro, in supporting roles. "Fast and Furious 7" actor Vin Diesel also stars.

In the comics, Iron-Man was at one time a member of the group, and the internet has been abuzz with rumors that Robert Downey Jr. will be seen in a cameo role in "Guardians of the Galaxy" when it arrives in theaters on Aug. 1.
