Many well-known restaurant and retail chains are honoring the nation's veterans on Tuesday, Veterans Day, by serving up free food, or discounts on goods and services.
And lots of the offers aren't just for vets -- they're for active-duty personnel, as well.
They range from free meals to discounted haircuts, shoes, home improvement products, and much more.
The daily military newspaper Starts and Stripes compiled a list.
It added this advice: "Call ahead to make sure your local places are participating -- and ask what you need to bring to identify yourself. Check to make sure what exactly is included in the offers. For example, beverages and gratuities are often not covered at eateries."
