Ex-Insider: Jackson Was "Down-to-Earth"

Michael Jackson was a loving, great father, very sensitive -- and surprisingly down-to-earth.

The word picture was painted during an exclusive interview on "The Early Show" Thursday by Mike La Perruque, a longtime confidante of the pop icon and his head of security from 2001-2004, and again for several months in 2007.

La Perruque also told co-anchor Maggie Rodriguez he never saw Jackson take or abuse drugs, though he had "suspicions" that drugs were incapacitating Jackson at times.

And he said Jackson didn't have a girlfriend, as far as he knew -- contrary to claims made by an ex-Jackson bodyguard -- who also said doctors had Jackson's "blood on their hands" due to all the medications they prescribed for Jackson.
