DailyCandy fools us on Facebook, but we loved it
(CBS) - A funny status update made its way down my Facebook page this afternoon. It said, "Would you sign up for DailyManCandy?"
Umm. Yes, please!
When I clicked on the link it was full of adorable, you guessed it, Man Candy! The tongue-and-cheek video featured DailyCandy editor Lauren Lumsden showcasing single men in New York City. Online dating can be incredibly discouraging, so I immediately fell in love with the format. Videos of cute single men delivered via daily newsletter? It was a no brainer. Subscribe!

I reached out to DailyCandy for more information (and, uh, to get on the mailing list). Sadly, I found out it was an old April Fool's joke. Doh! Lauren wrote me back to let me know they revived the video because it's so loved in their office and they wanted to post something fun on Facebook today.
She told me that the original blast went out to the New York City list and got over 4,000 inquiries overnight. Whoa! Online dating profiles just aren't enough for single ladies in the Big Apple. We must have them showcased in video format, as well!
I asked if they were remotely serious about the DailyManCandy feature. Unfortunately, it doesn't go with DailyCandy's editorial vision, so that project will not see the light of day. Can I call to action ladies on YouTube to start taping their single guy friends?
Click on the image above to see the video in its entirety. It's certainly a clever jab at the perils of online dating in New York or any city for that matter, wouldn't you say.
