There were plenty of highlights from Wednesday's star-studded event in Nashville. Buzz spread all over social media with viewers chiming in about co-hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley, the many performances and of course, the winners and losers. According to Facebook, George Strait's entertainer of the year winwas the No. 1 social moment of the night.
Upon accepting the coveted Country Music Association Award, the 61-year-old country crooner said, "This blows me away. This means the world to me, I appreciate it. Thank you."
The tribute to the late George Jones was the second most social moment of the show. That's when George Strait and Alan Jackson performed "She Stopped Loving Her Today."
Luke Bryan and Florida Georgia Line kicked off the three-hour gala with a rendition of "That's My Kinda Night," marking the night's third most buzzed-about moment, according to Facebook. Bryan told the crowd, "This is a CMA kinda night!"
Kenny Rogers was saluted with a special CMA tribute, but it was his version of "Islands in the Stream" with singer Jennifer Nettles that got people talking, making it the No. 4 most social moment on Facebook.
And finally, the fifth most social moment came from Carrie Underwood. The show's co-host sang a medley at the start of the final hour of the telecast featuring the songs "See You Again," "Two Black Cadillacs," "Blown Away" and "Good Girl."
