The Theodore Wirth Golf Course in Minneapolis opened in 1916. It's one of the oldest golf courses west of the Mississippi River.Keller Golf Course in Maplewood, Minn. was a regular stop on the PGA Tour from the 1930s through the '60s and hosted two PGA Championships. "That's one of the things that make this place so special, is all the history," Paul Diegnau, Keller's superintendent, said.
With her team missing one its big scorers, Janel McCarville took charge for the Minnesota Lynx. McCarville had a season-high 22 points and the short-handed Lynx beat the Seattle Storm 74-69 Sunday night. Maya Moore added 14 points for the Lynx (12-5), who have won three of four. Devereaux Peters had 12 points and Lindsay Whalen scored 10.
Lynx guard Seimone Augustus will miss Minnesota's game Sunday against the Seattle Storm due to bursitis in her left knee. Augustus is the team's second-leading scorer at 17.2 points per game and has been playing through pain for the past few weeks. The injury caused her to miss the June 18 game in Phoenix.
Kendrys Morales had a tiebreaking double off Texas closer Joakim Soria in the top of the ninth inning and the Minnesota Twins snapped a 10-game road losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Rangers on Sunday. Morales' line drive landed just inside the foul line in left field, and a leaping security guard avoided touching the ball, allowing pinch-runner Sam Fuld to score from first base.

Gwen Jorgensen became the first woman to win six career ITU World Triathlon Series events, topping the field Saturday at Grant Park. Jorgensen, the Olympian from St. Paul, Minnesota, completed the 1,500-meter swim, 38.1-kilometer bike ride and 10-kilometer run in 1 hour, 55 minutes, 33 seconds.
Phil Hughes hoped to turn around the fortunes of a Minnesota Twins team that came 0-4 on its current road trip and winless in the previous nine games away from Target Field. An early run was all the Rangers needed with Yu Darvish on the mound to hand Minnesota another road loss. Zach LaVine's parents, Paul and C.J., are celebrating right along with him. "It's great. It feels good," Paul said. It's been a long journey. A big crane is coming to help build the Minnesota Vikings new stadium. The Minnesota Sports Facilities Authority and Mortenson Construction say one of the largest cranes in the world will be used to help build the $1 billion stadium. The crane will start arriving at the construction site in downtown Minneapolis Monday morning. The crawler crane will arrive in 70 truckloads over 10 days. When assembled, the crane can lift up to 1,250 metric tons.
Minnesota left fielder Josh Willingham made a diving attempt at a sinking line drive. A couple of batters later, he was chasing down a deep fly ball when he ran into the outfield wall.
