Pilot Killed In Wisconsin Helicopter Crash

TOWN OF MAPLE GROVE, Wis. (AP) — Federal aviation officials say a pilot has died in the crash of a helicopter in Manitowoc County.

The Federal Aviation Administration says the MD-369E chopper crashed near Reedsville Wednesday morning. The Manitowoc County Sheriff's Department says the pilot was the only one on board and was assisting construction crews with the installation of transmission lines. The crash occurred in a remote, swampy area in the Town of Maple Grove.

The FAA says the National Transportation Safety Board will lead the investigation into what caused the helicopter to go down.
