Where's The Top Hipster Zip Code? In St. Paul, Apparently
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A realty website says a St. Paul neighborhood is America's top hipster zip code.
And that's a good thing.
Lowertown topped RealtyTrac's list. The site says hipsters mean trendy restaurants, bars and other amenities, and probably rising property values and rental rates.
RealtyTrac says a good hipster neighborhood is a good target for real estate investors.
In a statement Thursday, St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman said, "I couldn't be more proud that our efforts to create a cool, but not too outwardly cool, vibrant but not too showy, and modern but also retro-feeling culture...has really worked."
