Vikings WR Simpson Is Healthy, Ready

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - Vikings wide receiver Jerome Simpson has his legs back, which means he can go deep again.

"Really it was just rest for me. And then just after that getting treatment and just trying to stay off it as much as possible," Simpsons said. "We have great trainers here, so they told me the right things to do."

You could see it this summer when he worked out at Larry Fitzgerald's camp. Simpson looked like he loved the game again, and loved running routes.

"I had my burst back. It's a wonder what rest can do sometimes. It helped me this offseason just to be able to just rest and relax, and then just to get back to it and perfecting my craft," he said.

Simpson only showed a glimpse last season of what he believes he can be this season. Last year was a better teacher than anything else.

"Especially when you've been in the system for two years now, it's just coming to me a lot more naturally. And I can go out there and just perform," he said.

Maybe it will be a shared responsibility, but Simpson has to be able to go deep to make his mark on the team.

"I have to just make plays, because we have guys all across the board that can make plays," he said. "I just need to catch the ball and help this team win ball games."
