USDOT: Airlines In US Collect Billions In Baggage Fees

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- All those extra fees are adding up for the airlines.

The Department of Transportation says airlines collected $3.5 billion in bag fees last year. That's up five percent from 2013.

They also took in $3 billion in reservation change fees -- up 6 percent.

That doesn't include other fees for extra leg room, food, drinks and in-flight entertainment.
