Top Minnesota Spots For Late-Night Bowling

Bowling is fun for everyone. Late-night bowling offers special pricing and unique events, making it even more fun. Check out these five bowling alleys where you can enjoy yourself later in the evening.

Flaherty's is the oldest family owned bowling alley in the United States, according to fourth generation family member, Adam Flaherty. It has developed a strong following of neighborhood support since P. C Flaherty founded the business back to 1938. Sunday through Thursday Dollar Bowling is only $1.50 per game and $1 for shoe rental, except on holidays. Saturday nights are special during bowling season, as Lil' Ollie hosts the "What's Your Shot Game Show." Participants and spectators are entertained as Ollie interacts with contestants vying for cash prizes. Look for Customer Appreciation Night in August launching the uproarious weekly event.

"Our beloved Country Club Lanes has been a fixture for years," says Laura Hotvet, of the Excelsior-Lake Minnetonka Chamber of Commerce. Patrons get reasonably priced bowling in a family atmosphere including ramps and bumpers, video games and food off the grill. Thursday night is Quarter-Mania night, when a $5 cash cover charge gives you 25 cent bowling, 25 cent shoes, 50 cent French fries and a 50 cent soda. Fridays and Saturdays are only $9.99 per person for glow bowling. Each night, bowlers enjoy unlimited bowling, free shoe rental, featuring an energizing sound and light show. Up to six people can rent one lane for $45.99.

Try unlimited bowling for all 21 and older Sunday through Thursday for only $10.00, shoes included. Ladies bowl free on Tuesday nights starting at 9:00 p.m. Guys are still welcome, but at the usual price of $10. Take advantage of the You-Call-It Beverage offered at only three bucks. Friday and Saturday night is cosmic bowling from 10:00 p.m. to 1:30 a.m. at only $17 per person. Check in beginning 9:00 p.m. to make sure you get a lane and enjoy the celestial light shows, black light and cool music. Its highly rated grill is open late for food delivered to bowlers. Locally owned and operated, Park Tavern has been around for over fifty years.

The best deal in town is Sunday nights at Apple Place Bowl where each game is only $1.50 and shoes are only $1.50. The price for Monday nights through Thursday nights is only $10 for all the games you can play before closing. Take advantage of the late night happy hour while you are there. Apple Place Bowl offers cosmic bowling on Friday nights. It is a fun time for bowlers of all ages at $15 per person for unlimited bowling with shoe rental, Main Street Grill, drinks and sand volleyball.

You may not have noticed this little gem because there is no storefront. There is only a door and a stairway leading down to an underground full-service bowling alley with 30 lanes of fun, with a bar, grill and arcade. Late night prices are very reasonable and it is not usually very crowded. College students bowl two for one from 9:00 p.m. until close on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
