Rooftop Fire Damages Warehouse District Building
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Minneapolis firefighters put out a fire early Sunday morning on the roof of a four-story building in the city's Warehouse District.
Officials say a bystander saw the fire atop a building near the intersection of Washington and 1st avenues and called it in just before 4 a.m.
Firefighters found patio furniture and decking on fire, but they had a tough time getting to the rooftop.
"Our aerial actually had to go over another roof to get to the roof where the fire was at," battalion chief Kathleen Mullen said.
The fire damaged the roof structure and there was some water damage to a top residential unit.
Residents were evacuated, and no one was hurt.
