Poll Shows Marriage Amendment Is A Toss-Up

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A new poll shows voters are at a virtual toss-up when it comes to Minnesota's proposed marriage amendment that will be on the November ballot.

Public Policy Polling found 48 percent of likely voters in favor of the amendment, which would ban marriage for same-sex couples in Minnesota.

About 47 percent are opposed to the amendment, and five percent aren't sure how they'll vote.

Support for the other amendment on the ballot in November, voter ID, was strong.

About 56 percent of voters were in favor of showing photo identification at the polls, while 39 percent were against it.
