MSFA Chair Defends Review On Wilfs
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Michelle Kelm-Helgen, the chair of the Metropolitan Sports Facilities Authority, says it's important the review was done.
"It definitely was important," she said. "It did identify, just a very thorough examination the information and potential risks and how we will mitigate those risks if they come to pass which I don't think they will."
Calling it a bump in the road, she said it was needed.
Kelm-Helgen said it is the role of the authority to protect the public's interest in the new stadium project.
"We wanted to make sure that the New Jersey lawsuit would not have an impact on the stadium project in Minnesota," she said.
The report found that even in a worst case scenario, the Wilfs would be able to pay their share of the stadium.
