MNsure Says New System Running Smoothly On Day 2
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Officials with Minnesota's new online health insurance marketplace say the system is running smoothly on its first full day of operation after a bumpy start the day before. Shoppers themselves are reporting mixed experiences.
MNsure spokeswoman Jenni Bowring-McDonough says consumers created over 2,500 accounts by midafternoon Wednesday. She says the website is averaging 2,000-3,000 concurrent users, and is averaging 30,000-50,000 hits per hour.
She says MNsure expects figures at a later date for how many people have enrolled for coverage.
Consumers still report some glitches. They include David Berge (BER'-ghee), a pastor with two young children in Shoreview, who says he tried unsuccessfully at least 10 times to create an account. His high-deductible plan expires at the end of the year, so he wants answers about his options soon.
