According to the Aitkin County Sheriff's Office, Piner left home of her own free will at the end of July, and soon stopped keeping in touch with her family, who reported Piner missing on Sept. 14. Officials say she is believed to be in a "tent city type situation" in the metro area.

Anyone who has seen Piner or knows where she is is asked to call 911 or the sheriff's office at 218-927-7400.
