DALHART, Texas (WCCO/AP) — A Minnesota couple was among five people that were hurt in a crash in the Texas Panhandle that also killed three people, authorities said.

An 11-year-old boy and two adults were killed in the crash. The adults killed were identified as 34-year-old Paz Alejandra Rocha and 38-year-old Gilberto Garcia Perez. The name of the boy was not released.

The accident happened Saturday morning near Dalhart. A strong winter cold front had dumped about four inches of snow on the area. Authorities say a Chevrolet Tahoe carrying the three Arizona residents was driving too fast for road conditions and spun into oncoming traffic, striking a 2012 Buick.

A 68-year-old woman from Cedar, Minn., identified as Karle Mae Blum, was critically hurt in the crash. A 69-year-old man from Cedar, identified as Dennis Randy Blum, suffered non-life threatening injuries.
