Gophers Hold Out Nate Mason Against Harvard With Ankle Injury

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Minnesota point guard Nate Mason has been held out against Harvard because of a week-old left ankle injury suffered in the previous game.

Mason did not suit up on Saturday when the Gophers hosted the Crimson in their final nonconference contest. He was hurt in the second half during Minnesota's 95-60 victory over Florida Atlantic on Dec. 23. The senior and preseason All-Big Ten pick is second on the team with an average of 15.5 points per game. He leads the Gophers with 4.1 assists per game.

Shooting guard Dupree McBrayer, however, returned from a left lower leg injury that kept him out of the previous two contests.
