Minnesota Beats Bemidji St. 4-2
BEMIDJI, Minn. (AP) — Nick Bjugstad's second goal at 14:54 of the third period lifted second-ranked Minnesota over Bemidji State 4-2 on Friday, keeping the Gophers' hopes alive for the McNaughton Cup.
Minnesota (23-7-5, 15-7-5) heads into Saturday's final game tied with North Dakota for second place, two points behind St. Cloud State. The Gophers can earn a share of the title with a win and a St. Cloud State loss.
Bjugstad's first goal gave Minnesota a 2-1 lead. Ben Marshall and Justin Holl also scored for Minnesota, which improved to 3-0-1 all-time in Bemidji.
Adam Wilcox made 24 saves for the Gophers.
Cory Ward had two goals for Bemidji State, and Matt Prapavessis added a goal.
Bemidji State goalie Andrew Walsh had 24 saves.
Bemidji State is 1-11-4 in its last 16 games.
