Minnesota 10-month-old named 2026 Gerber Baby

A Minnesota baby is officially one of the cutest in the country.

Cameron Chung was named the 2026 Gerber Baby on Tuesday following a nationwide search. The 10-month-old beat out more than 100,000 other cuties to win the title.

Cameron's parents, Alden Chung and Rachael Olsen, said they entered the annual Gerber Photo Search knowing the odds were slim.

"We kind of put the submission in not expecting much," Alden Chung said. "Knew that there was going to be over 100,000 applicants. Then just waited and saw that we got a lucky email one day."

That email led to a life-changing phone call. Their son, Cameron, had been selected as the 2026 Gerber Baby.

"Alden had his typical 'Let's go!' and my mom and I both broke down crying," Olsen said. "And Cam was just looking at the three of us like, 'What's going on?'"

It was a photograph of Cameron's bright smile that caught the attention of the judges. That smile was hard-earned.

During Cameron's first months, the family faced several challenges. He suffered from severe colic and Alden Chung was recovering from a foot injury. The couple temporarily moved in with Alden Chung's parents for additional support.

"I always joke because I literally had 25,000 steps a day just bouncing him, trying to keep him calm," Olsen said.

"You got this kid who's crying, wailing, fussing for 80% of the day," Alden Chung said. "As first-time parents, you don't really know what's wrong with him. You feel like you want to fix it, but you can't."

Those early struggles aligned with this year's Gerber Photo Search theme, Behind the Baby, which highlighted the realities many families experience while navigating the early years of parenthood.

Eventually, things changed.

Cameron's colic faded, Alden Chung's foot healed and today the family is happier than ever.

"He's been absolutely just a joy," Olsen said. "So fun to watch him learn, watch him grow. He's so curious, just looking to learn how everything works."

The family also recognizes the fact that Cameron now has bragging rights for life.

"The main comment we get from people is that he's got one of those fun facts to open up meetings with for the rest of his life," Alden Chung said with a laugh.

Cameron's parents will receive $50,000 in addition to a special Gerber Childrenswear "Grow With Us" wardrobe valued at over $2,000.
