Minneapolis Parks Finally Ready For Cross-Country Skiers

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Something you can finally do this weekend is cross-country ski in Minneapolis parks.

Only a few short loops had been open with man-made snow until now.

But with the natural snow that fell this week, most trails are groomed and open in Theodore Wirth Park, and at Columbia and Hiawatha golf courses.

You can also snowshoe for free at all of the parks, and rentals are available.

Snowboarding and tubing runs are not open yet, but keep checking the Minneapolis Parks website because they will open soon.

And they are still looking for seasonal workers to join the team at Wirth Park this winter.

In the video above, Mike Augustyniak stopped by Wirth Park to find out what they have to offer, and he also caught up with some very stir-crazy skiers!
