Memorial Fund Established For Wis. Boy Found In Car
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – A memorial fund has been set up for the 2-year-old boy whose body was found in a car trunk after he'd been missing in western Wisconsin for more than a day.
Authorities say a law enforcement officer found Isaiah Theis on the night of July 17, a day on which thousands searched for the boy near his home in Centuria. According to preliminary reports, Isaiah died of hyperthermia.
The pastor of the boy's family said Isaiah was found in the trunk with a key to that car and several others. Isaiah's father runs a repair business, and the car belonged to a customer.
Authorities have yet to say how they think Isaiah ended up in the trunk.
On the memorial fund website, it says the money raised will go to the Theis family to help pay for Isaiah's funeral expenses. Those who set up the fund hope to raise $20,000.
