MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The 19-year-old University of Minnesota student found dead near the Stone Arch Bridge in December died of hypothermia with acute alcohol intoxication contributing, officials say.
The Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office says it determined Jacob Anderson's cause of death in January, adding that his death was accidental. Anderson's blood alcohol content was not released.
Anderson was a freshman, studying pharmacology at the College of Liberal Arts. His body was found by a passerby on Dec. 16, 2013, just east of the Stone Arch Bridge, along Main Street.
It's still unknown how his body ended up there. The Minneapolis Police Department continues to investigate the incident.
