Southern Minn. To Get Slammed By March Snow Storm
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Hope you didn't put the shovels in deep storage yet, because a big March snow storm is set to hit mid-day Wednesday.
The morning commute should be fine, with precipitation in the area, but nothing too heavy.
But the snow starts to really hit during the day, with the drive home being tough from the Twin Cities on down south.

The south metro will have a harder go than the north metro, which could get shut out from seeing any snow.
The Twin Cities metro could see 2 to 4 inches; Minneapolis and St. Paul could see 4 to 6 inches; and the south metro could get 6 to 12 inches -- anywhere from Owatonna down to the southern border.
The wind will be a factor, blowing 15 to 25 miles per hour from the northeast.
It will be a very wet and heavy snow, so drifting will not be as much of a problem as the blowing snow and poor visibility while it's falling.
Travel to the south will be tough along interstates 90, 35, 52 and any other routes heading south for that matter.
But Northern Minnesota will luck out and get nothing -- and in fact will likely get some sunshine Wednesday.
The Twin Cities will see some of that sunshine again Thursday, which will help melt away snow, especially on the roads, rather quickly.
We will be in the 40s Friday, so the remnants of this storm will be but a memory by early next week.
