MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) - A man was sentenced in Hubbard County for drag racing while drunk after an incident that left a woman severely injured.

Mitchell Lee Dirks was sentenced to six years probation.

Dirks pleaded guilty on Jan. 15 to a count of criminal vehicle operation involving great bodily harm to another and a count of gross misdemeanor driving while impaired.

According to the Hubbard County Attorney's Office, Dirks was involved in a drag racing incident on Aug. 9, 2014.

While driving, Dirks went over 100 mph and lost control of the vehicle.
