2 In Custody After Man's Fatal Shooting At Party In West St. Paul Park
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- A man and a woman are in custody in connection to a deadly shooting Wednesday night in West St. Paul.
The city's police department says the shooting happened at about 9 p.m. during "a large gathering" at Thompson County Park. The crowd had mostly fled before responding officers arrived.
They found a man suffering from a gunshot wound, and emergency crews rushed him to a hospital. He was pronounced dead soon thereafter.
Investigators believe this was a targeted shooting. A 22-year-old Maplewood man and a 20-year-old Champlin woman are in the Dakota County Jail, him for possession of a gun without a permit, and her for aiding an offender. WCCO doesn't typically identify suspects before they've been formally charged.
Anyone with information on this homicide is asked to call police at 651-552-4200.
