Madden's Resort Reopens After Damaging Storms
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- One of the most popular Brainerd Lakes-area resorts damaged by recent storms says it has reopened two-thirds of its property Tuesday.
"The Thuringer family is extremely excited to welcome back guests as they can enjoy the many amenities including The Spa, Tennis & Croquet Club, Marina and more," resort spokesman Keegan Shoutz said Tuesday morning.
Earlier this month, storms whipped through northern Minnesota. Strong winds knocked over trees and ripped the roof off a Madden's building, forcing the resort to close at the height of vacation season.
As a result, many people looking for a summer getaway had to change their plans.
