Man dies after striking semi-truck on central Minnesota highway
Authorities are investigating a crash that killed a man Saturday afternoon in central Minnesota.
The Kandiyohi County Sheriff's Office says it received a report of a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of County Road 2 and County Road 33 in Roseville Township just before 2 p.m.
A 44-year-old man had been driving an SUV east on County Road 33 when he struck a semi-truck pulling a trailer traveling northbound on County Road 2. The driver of the semi, a 67-year-old man, was treated for minor injuries on scene and released.
The driver of the SUV had to be extricated, according to the sheriff's office. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash is under investigation.
Roseville Township is located about 40 miles southwest of St. Cloud.
