Hennepin Co. Water Patrol Recover Body From Minnesota River

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Hennepin County Water Patrol is responding to the Minnesota River at Interstate 35W to recover a body from the water.

According to the county sheriff's office, a pedestrian called 911 at around 11 a.m. Tuesday to report an abandoned bike found on a service road that runs long the river and underneath the interstate in Bloomington.

When authorities responded, a body of a 26-year-old man was discovered in the water. The sheriff's office recovered the victim and is investigating.

The county medical examiner's office will be making the identification and official cause of death.
