BRAINERD, Minn. (WCCO) -- On Thursday, Chris Shaffer and Esme Murphy headed up to the Brainerd Lakes Area to ride horses, cruise Gull Lake and take on a massive burger challenge at Hassies Saloon and Eatery. It's all part of the Goin' To The Lake: All Summer Long event. Each week, familiar 'CCO faces are going out to the lake until the start of the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
On Friday, Chris and Esme continued their trip in the Brainerd Lakes Area. The two checked out Lake Jam, which is going on this weekend, and they also just had to see a rally for Harley-Davidson owners. Since Chris owns a Harley, he had to go, and he gave Esme her first-ever Harley ride.

The two also stopped by Boyd Lodge, a resort right on Whitefish Lake. What makes the resort unique is that it hold turtle races.
Chris and Esme watched a race, in which two turtles named Amelia and Frank competed, but neither of those turtles won.

Also on Friday, Chris and Esme stopped by one of the most popular spots up north – The Minnesota Wildlife Park: Safari North.
The two got to see loads of different animals – many of which are from Africa – and Chris even kissed one.
