Now that the back-to-school rush has died down, jeans left over continue to get discounted. Typically you see denim prices continue to drop in September, and then dip even more in October. As a result, you'll see sales of 40 to 50 percent off or more, some best deals on jeans you'll see all year 'round.
Refrigerators, toaster ovens, vacuums -- you name it. New models on appliances come out this time of the year. As a result, retailers are offering steep discounts by as much as 40 percent to make way for this new inventory. Other times, you might see discounts on smaller appliances such as coffee makers and blenders. This time of the year, appliances sales are wider ranging so you'll have a larger selection of bargains to choose from.
From camping gear to lawn equipment, outdoor supplies are at some of their best prices of the year now that the peak season has come to a close. Green thumb enthusiasts might especially want to take advantage of plant sales. Many people aren't thinking of gardening with the harsh weather coming up. So if you're up for an indoor garden, stores will give you a bargain to get rid of remaining plants.
New car models come out in the summer and car dealerships want to get rid of their existing inventory around this time of the year. The cars that haven't sold continue to dip going into fall. As long as you're okay with the past year's models, it's a great time to buy.
Because this is the time of the year when between peak summer and holiday travel seasons, not as many people are hopping on a plane or booking hotels. The travel industry wants to offer incentive for you to travel this time of the year. As a result, deals on hotels (sometimes as much as 50 percent less than what you might see in the summer) as well as on flights both domestically and internationally are at their best starting in September and going into October. And remember, just because you book now doesn't mean you have to travel anytime soon. It's a good time to plan ahead and book your holiday travel before prices start to go up.
