Get Movin' Monday: Keep Your Holiday Wardrobe Stunning
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – It's the holiday season, which means weekends are filled with company Christmas parties and family gatherings.
There's a lot of holiday hoopla, but what should you wear to stay fresh with all the festivities? This week in Get Movin' Monday, fashion expert Grant Whittaker shows us five trends with your wardrobe to keep your holiday outfits stunning.
Whittaker says trend No. 1 is color. Forget the black dress, go bold with your colors and if you're looking for more color, try it with lace. For a more conservative look, do bright colors in a good fit.
Trend No. 2 is animal prints. Whittaker says leopard print has been around forever, and now we're finding it in more compatible ways for the body. Pair the look with a classic coat for the perfect combination.
Trend No. 3 is sequins. They are a popular look really only during the winter-time period, Whittaker says, and that's when it's done correctly. They can make your outfit look glamorous without breaking the bank. But to make sure they flatter, they need to be on the top part of a dress or look for designs that separate the sequins.
Trend No. 4 is metallics. It's a festive time of the year to add a little glitz and glamour to what you're wearing. Pair the sparkle with some fur to be camera ready, but be ready to pay for it. You can also scale it back with a lighter-colored blouse. Pair it with jeans for a night out or dress pants for your company outing.
Trend No. 5, Whittaker says, is snow winter white. It never goes out of style and can be paired with a classic boot for day, or heels for night.
