Following Anthony Barr's Season-Ending Injury, Vikings Sign Fmr. Broncos LB Todd Davis

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minnesota Vikings are adding depth to the roster following a season-ending injury of starting linebacker Anthony Barr.

On Thursday, the Vikings announced former Denver Broncos linebacker Todd Davis has been signed to the active roster. According to reports, it's a one-year contract.

Davis, 28, is a six-year veteran of the NFL who was released by the Broncos on Sept. 4 prior to the roster cut down deadline. The former undrafted free agent led the Broncos in tackling in 2019, despite missing the first two games of the season.

Davis has also played under Vikings offensive coordinator and assistant coach Gary Kubiak, who was the head coach of the Broncos at the time.

The move is expected to provide a solid replacement to Barr, who will miss the rest of the season with a pectoral injury.

Meanwhile, linebacker Troy Dye has been placed on the reserve and injured list.
