FAA Releases New Drone Regulations
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Federal Aviation Administration has proposed new rules for commercial drones that weigh up to 55 pounds.
The rules state that the drones must remain within sight, must only be flow during daylight hours, must fly below 500 feet and can not fly faster than 100 miles per hour.
The rules also state that drone operators must also be at least 17-years-old.
These rules will eventually open an era in which small, unmanned aircraft perform routine tasks, including crop monitoring, aerial photography, inspection of bridges and much more.
