Electric Run Coming To St. Paul In May
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- Typically, running at night is dangerous and stupid, but when you add a million watts of light and sound -- it's another story.
The night-time 5K event, called the Electric Run, is coming to St. Paul on May 31.
Beyond the 5K run, organizers say the event is like a show or participation art, with the glowing runners as the centerpiece.
Each course has 5-10 sets of distinct lighting which includes glowing neon trees, lasers creating tunnels of light and buildings lit so brightly they can be seen from space.
The race concludes with a big celebration of music and lights.
The St. Paul event will take place at the Minnesota State Fairgrounds. Registration opens Friday, Feb. 22 at 9:05 a.m. The price ranges from $40 per person for teams to $60 per person, depending on when you register. Individual runners/walkers can register for $45 to $65 depending on when they register.
