Minneapolis School Board Names Ed Graff As Next Superintendant

MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) -- The Minneapolis School Board has made its choice for the next leader of the struggling district.

Board members voted tonight for Ed Graff as superintendent. The Minnesota-native most recently held the same position in Anchorage, Alaska.

In a 6-3 board vote, Graff beat out Minnesota Department of Education Commissioner, Brenda Cassellius. Supporters cited Graff's work turning around a struggling Anchorage district.

The board will now enter contract negotiations with Graff. He'll likely start July 1.
