DNR: Supreme Court Denies Wolf Hunt Petition
MINNEAPOLIS (WCCO) – The Minnesota Supreme Court denied a petition Friday that sought a review of a request to stop Minnesota's wolf hunt season, the Department Natural Resources said.
Tom Landwehr, the DNR commissioner, said in a release that the court's action "resolves any uncertainty" hunters might have had leading up to the hunt. The wolf season starts next Saturday.
The DNR's target harvest is 400 wolves, which will not have a significant impact on Minnesota's 3,000-strong wolf population, Landwehr said.
